The Comité Olímpico Español, founded in 1912, aims to develop and enhance the Olympic Movement and sport, foster and guide sports practice, assist with preparations for disciplines that are represented at the Olympic Games, and strengthen the Olympic ideal by disseminating its spirit and philosophy.
The aim of the Real Academia Olímpica Española – the first-ever National Olympic Academy, founded in 1968 – is to disseminate Olympism and its Fundamental Principles nationally and within the sports system, as part of its efforts to promote Olympic education.
