This fourth edition, aimed at a young audience and published jointly by the Spanish Olympic Committee and the Spanish Olympic Academy, deals with the origin of the Games in Olympia, the ideology of Pierre de Coubertin, the Olympic Movement, its structure, symbols and emblems, and the diffusion and pedagogy of Olympism. It also contains brief reviews on the modern Olympic Games of summer (from Athens 1896 to Athens 2004) and winter (from Chamonix 1924 to Salt Lake City 2002). Finally, it lists the Olympic medals won by Spain between 1900 and 2000.
