The African Games : an IOC's colonial modernisation : 1920-1930 / by Fabrice Auger
In this article the author looks back on how Pierre de Coubertin and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) developed a policy of sports education for the French African colonies which culminated in the creation of the African Games. He analyzes why Europe rejected the concept of the African Games.
