With this work, the author has culminated a long process of research by collating the latest specialized bibliography and doctoral theses on the case to demonstrate that Theodosius I did not suppress the Games of Olympia, and that this assertion is manifestly unfounded and that the Games had "a nebulous origin, historical splendor and an imprecise end, disappearing without a sound at an uncertain date".
