This book, aimed at a teenage audience and published jointly by the Provincial Council of Cadiz and the Spanish Olympic Committee, summarizes in a schematic way the highlights of the Olympic evolution. Thus, it contains a review of Pierre de Coubertin, explains the origin of the Games, and describes the highlights of the Summer Olympic Games (Athens 1896 - Moscow 1980) and the Winter Olympic Games (Chamonix 1924 - Calgary 1988). It looks ahead to the Barcelona 1992 Summer Games and the Albertville 1992 and Lillehammer 1994 Winter Games. Finally, it also talks about the Olympic Movement and its emblems and lists the Olympic medals won by Spain between 1900 and 1988.
