The ethics of efficiency : performance-enhancing technologies and Olympic fair play / Heather L. Reid

Reid, Heather Lynne (1963-)

Many Olympic sports, such as swimming, cycling, skiing, and pole-vaulting have struggled with the management of performance-enhancing technologies. Paralympic sport, meanwhile, has faced the emergence of very high-tech and very high-cost prostheses. The goal of this study is to develop clear ethical guidelines for the use and limitation of performance-enhancing technologies such as equipment and prostheses in Olympic and Paralympic sports.
