During the Olympic Summer Games from 1912 to 1948, artists from all-around the world submitted their artworks in five categories: architecture, painting, sculpture, literature and music. This document traces the origins, the conduct and the disappearance of the art competitions, born of the will of Pierre de Coubertin to simultaneously develop both the body and mind.
