Collaborative governance for Olympic stadium legacy : a multiple case study of Los Angeles 1984 and Atlanta 1996 / Jinsu Byun
Edited by Yonsei University - 2023
This study examines how Olympic stadium legacies may be sustained through collaborative governance. A multiple case study was completed focusing on two Olympic host cities in the United States: Los Angeles 1984 and Atlanta 1996. Recently, negotiation among many legacy stakeholders in each city has resulted in the renovation of the Olympic main stadiums: the Los Angeles (LA) Memorial Coliseum and Centennial Olympic Stadium (renamed as Turner Field after the Games). Drawing on a collaborative governance framework, this study investigates multiple dimensions of collaborative governance established in the cities for the Olympic stadium renovation projects, which enhanced the legacies of the stadiums.
