HISTORICAL ARCHIVES
HIstorical archives
The IOC Historical Archives currently hold 1.5 linear km of text documents, which tell the story of how the IOC and the Olympic Movement have evolved from their creation to the present day.
This Olympic memory is divided into more than 10 series, which reflect the IOC’s structure and functioning. To get a better idea of the resources available to you, feel free to explore the finding aids below.
In general, the records are only available as hard copies and may be consulted on site and by appointment.
Consultation is subject to the IOC Archives Access Rules. Certain series need to be ordered half a day in advance to be consulted in the reading room. We therefore recommend that, wherever possible, you inform us beforehand of which documents you wish to consult.
Please note that the Olympic World Library search results include only the Library’s collections, and not the resources held in the Historical Archives.
