Official reports
The Official Reports of the Olympic Games are the most comprehensive set of publications of each edition of the modern Olympic Games since their inception in 1896. They are a unique and invaluable source of reference.
As required in both the Olympic Charter and the Host City Contract, each Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (OCOG), upon the conclusion of the Games, has the responsibility of producing an official report on the celebration and staging of the Games and providing information on (among other things) the planning, construction, operations, budget, Olympic-related cultural activities, competition results and legacy plan of the Games.
Usually available in English and French, and in the language of the host country, and published in several volumes, the documents are designed to make the candidature, planning and staging of the Games easily understood.
Thanks to considerable digitisation efforts, we are happy to be able to offer you a digital access to our collection of Official Reports for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. All the volumes of a specific edition of the Games are accessible once you open the relevant link. Additional editions in the language of the host country and associated documents are available in printed version, to be consulted at The Olympic Studies Centre.
To optimise your research in these large documents, we recommend you to insert your keywords in the viewer’s search bar to search the full text or to navigate in the table of contents (available on the left via the button “toggle sidebar”) to directly access the pages in which you are interested.
