Athlete-and coach-led education for teaching about abuse and neglect : researching the process, experiences, and outcomes / prepared for Olympic Studies Centre by Jennifer McMahon... [et al.]
Edited by [s.n.] - 2021
In this research, the authors design an online athlete- and coach-led abuse education program that teaches children through to adults (coaches, athletes) about neglect, as well as psychological and physical abuse. They then evaluate the implementation, outcomes, transferability (i.e., whether it can be transferred to different sports, contexts and run by different facilitators) and post-education impact of this abuse program to identify if it is evidence-based. By identifying the theoretical, pedagogical, and educational considerations that inform the design and delivery of our education, as well as evaluating it to see if it worked will demonstrate best practice of abuse education which can be modelled by sporting organizations and child protections agencies worldwide.
