Baden-Baden 1981 : the athletes' voice / by Michelle Ford-Eriksson with Anthony Edgar
One of the highlights of Juan Antonio Samaranch's presidency was the 11th Olympic Congress in Baden-Baden. It was at this congress that the amateur rule was abolished and women were elected to the International Olympic Committee for the first time. For the first time, athletes also had their say, including Australian Olympic swimming champion Michelle Ford, who remembers what happened 40 years ago very well in this article co-authored with Anthony Edgar.
