The authors of this paper review a sample of 17 research articles investing community and event volunteering as a legacy of major sport events. The purpose of this review is to highlight the focus of research since 2009, including methodological approaches used and variables examined, as well as the findings. It was of interest to determine the extent to which scholars have advanced knowledge of the legacy of major sport event volunteering, and in what ways.
