This report co-commissioned by the International Olympic Committee and Allianz, explores young people’s current levels of engagement and motivations in relation to community sport and physical activity. Initial results from this global study reveal that 72% of young people (90% of parents) think playing sport is important. However, according to the research, young people report being less active due a number of everyday barriers and global issues, such as the cost of living (37%), climate change (30%) and the ongoing COVID-19 impact (34%).
