The return of Coubertin's "Manifesto" / Volker Kluge

Kluge, Volker

The Russian Alisher Usmanov recently donated to The Olympic Museum the manuscript of Pierre de Coubertin's speech of 25th November 1892 at the Sorbonne on the fifth anniversary of the founding of the Union des Sociétés Françaises de Sports Athlétiques (USFSA). On this occasion, Kluge goes back over the history of this famous "Olympic manifesto", a 14-page document in which Coubertin for the first time publicly expressed the idea of restoring the Olympic Games.
